Bryan is a Systems Engineer.  He has clients throughout the state of Indiana.  One of those clients happens to be Plainfield Middle School.

Before loading Sidney into his car this morning to drop her off for her first day of school, he informed her that he would not be dropping her off at all.  Instead, he would walk with her into the building because that’s where he was going to be spending the day, too. He had rearranged his work schedule in such a way that would allow him to spend both today and tomorrow working on the networks at the middle school because he knew that it would make her feel better about heading in there today.

Sid was so happy to hear that.  And even happier when he told her that he would stop by at lunchtime to check on her.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  Even though he would like everyone to believe otherwise, Bryan Parks is just a big ol’ softie. He’s tough on our kids when they need it. He hands out discipline to them freely, when needed, without reservation. He firmly sets boundaries, for their own good. And he expects a lot out of them because he is bound and determined to keep them from growing into entitled, lazy adults. But, bottom line, our kids know how much he loves them, how much he is concerned about their well-being, and how he would do absolutely anything for them…even rearrange his work schedule to put his little girl’s mind and heart at ease on a big day like today. Yep. He’s a softie. But, don’t tell him I told you.
