Up His Alley

April 6, 2018

“I think I could get pretty good at this, Daddy!”

Of course.

It makes total sense, doesn’t it?

So much sense that we’re sorta kicking ourselves for not introducing him to bowling sooner.

The repetition. The predictability. The structure. The order. The lack of physical contact. The lack of chaos. The absence of confusing social cues.

Now, that’s the kind of sport that could be right up his alley (no pun intended).

Bryan and I think a prayer of ours may have been answered last night, thanks to our trip to the bowling alley.  We’ve been praying that Jackson could discover some passions/talents that could give him an emotional boost, and fuel his confidence.  It turns out that bowling might be one of those things.  He legitimately beat both of his sisters in his first game last night.  He was relaxed, smiling, and having fun all night.  And he has already asked me when we can take him back to the bowling alley again.

I’m telling you.  We might be onto something here.

Thanking God for hearing our prayers, and for answering them in surprising ways and unexpected places.
