Friends, it’s Wishbone Day!
What the heck is Wishbone Day?!?
Osteogenesis Imperfecta Awareness Day.
Every year, on May 6th, we wear yellow to show our love and support for Haven and the 25,000-50,000 other Americans who are afflicted with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) ~ a rare genetic condition that causes bones to break easily.  It’s a chronic disease that (currently) has no cure.
The founders of Wishbone Day chose yellow to signify this day because it is a color that conveys optimism, joy, and the promise of a positive future.  I can’t think of a more perfect color for us to wear, in support of that optimistic, joyful, positive, promise-filled boy of ours! That boy who has suffered over 25 fractures during his first 5 years of life.
If you have time today, do Haven a favor.  Grab your phone, and take just a few seconds to look up Osteogenesis Imperfecta.  Take the time to learn just one new fact or statistic about the disease, for Haven’s sake.  Awareness makes a difference.
