Worth the Wait

August 10, 2015

Two summers ago, we decided to put a concrete basketball court in our backyard.  It’s something that we had been wanting to do for our kids (and for us) for quite some time.

But, shortly after making that decision, we made an even bigger decision to move forward with a second adoption from China.  With $35,000 in adoption expenses ahead of us, investing in a basketball court didn’t seem like a very wise decision at the time.  So, we put those plans on hold for awhile.

And we brought Haven home.

Yesterday, the finishing touches on our new basketball court were completed.  It sure feels good to look out my kitchen window now and see that the court we envisioned for two years has finally become a reality.

Sure, it would have been nice to have it up a couple of years ago, as planned.

But, I’m SO glad that a sweet little boy named Haven came along to postpone and interrupt those plans ♥
