IMG_1181Well, we’re moving right along!

On Monday night, we received word that our LSC made it safely from China to our adoption agency.  And, today, it arrived on our doorstep.

We scrambled this afternoon to get documents signed and gathered.  After everything was organized and ready to go, I headed over to FedEx to send everything off to our agency and USCIS.

In addition to that, we have now reached the point in this process where our agency can send a care package to Haven for us.  So, within the new few weeks, Haven should receive a package in the mail from us which will contain a camera, a blanket, a stuffed bear, snacks, our family photo, and a letter that we have written to him.  I’m hoping and praying that his caretakers will show him our photo often….so that maybe – just maybe – he will be able to recognize us on the day that we meet.

I’m not gonna lie.  The six-week wait for our LSC was not fun.  Not fun at all.  The wait prior to seeing your child’s face is much easier than any waiting that occurs after you see their face.  This was true with Grace’s adoption, and it has certainly proven to be true with Haven’s adoption as well.

It was very, very nice to finally hold that LSC in my hands today.  Due to its arrival, I feel like progress is being made, once again.

So, what’s the next step?

Well, the next thing we need is our I-800 approval from USCIS.

Our agency estimates that it will arrive here in about three weeks. Once we have that, we move toward getting our Travel Approval…which will be the last major hurdle we need to clear before boarding that plane to China.

Keep praying, friends!!  Thanks so much.

Our own wait was 40 days and 40 nights. Looks like you’re just two weeks ahead of us in our adoption out of Nanchang.

How exciting!! Do you have a blog? I’d love to follow your journey. I have a dear friend who adopted from Nanchang a few years ago!
