The Big Man

December 24, 2013

We had a great time visiting the big man last night.  He was jolly and plump….with rosy cheeks and a twinkle in his eyes.  A wonderful Santa, indeed!

Each of the kids had a very sweet encounter with him.

Sidney was the first one to meet him.  Her conversation with him lasted a good 10 minutes. I’m not kidding.  (It’s a good thing that Santa is not only jolly….but also very patient!!)

Morganne was up next.  Much to our surprise, she wasn’t scared of him at all.  (Last year she was!)  This year, she walked right up to him and chatted as if they were old friends.  It was too darn cute.

Then, it was Gracie’s turn.  She quietly informed me (after a brief conversation with him) that he was the real Santa because his beard was on REALLY tight : )

And, last but not least, it was Jackson’s turn. The boy didn’t want anything to do with him. He didn’t even want to LOOK at him. He was a pretty scared little dude…and just hid in the corner – waiting for the girls to finish up so that we could leave and put him out of his misery. Upon seeing this, Santa decided to slowly walk over to him instead. He stopped and spoke to Jackson at a distance. Then he asked if he would rather get a photo with everyone together instead of just the two of them. Jackson agreed. Before leaving, I had to give the big man a big high five for being so compassionate and proactive.

Thanks, Santa!!
